Parent Volunteer Program

Bethlehem Academy's parent volunteer program help us build community, develop strong partnerships with our families, and keep school costs down. To do this, we ask families to partner with the school and contribute 15 volunteer hours each academic year to events and activities at BA. Hours not served will be billed at a rate of $25/hour. Note that students have service expectations as part of our academic program. Student hours do not count towards the parent volunteer program.

Using POINT to Create an Account/Volunteer/Track Hours

Families use the online POINT program to sign up for BA events and to self-submit hours served outside of a POINT sign up. All adults volunteering for a family are asked to use one family login in order to accurately log all hours served.

To get started, create an account through the POINT website or the app as follows:

• Go to www.pointapp.org/sign-in (web) or download the POINT app. Click sign up for a POINT account. Fill out and submit. You'll be sent a verification email that you will need to confirm.
• Once your account is approved, you can login to the dashboard and sign up for volunteer opportunities, self-submit hours, and track your impact.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I find volunteer opportunities?
Once you have an POINT account set up, log into POINT, click on My Organization and select Bethlehem Academy to see all active volunteer opportunities. For a list of traditionally available volunteer events and activities, click HERE. Volunteer options are also shared in the weekly Friday parent email. Hours are automatically logged if you sign up to volunteer through a POINT signup/event. Other hours must be self-submitted in POINT.

Can grandparents or other adult family members contribute to our 15 annual hours? 
Yes! Non-parent adult volunteers may help but should use your family login (username/password) to sign up so that the hours served can be included in your family total for the year.

Do student volunteer hours count towards the parent hours?
They do not. Students should use their BA student email to sign up for a joint parent-student event in POINT. Parents should not use their log in to sign their student up to work BA events.

What if we have volunteer hours that were not logged via a sign-up form?
POINT has the option to self-submit BA volunteer hours that occur outside of an event sign up. To do so, log into your POINT account, and click the “Add Hours” button found under your name in the left column.

What if we are not sure if our volunteer hours will count for this program?
Volunteer hours must be served at/for Bethlehem Academy. Parents may self-submit 5 volunteer hours/year for helping with a co-op sports teams at Faribault Middle School or Faribault High School. 

What if we don’t serve all the hours?
Hours are tracked from June 1 to May 31. Any hours not served will be charged $25/hour and billed to parent accounts in June.

Is there a buyout option?
Yes. All families have the option to serve the hours or to pay the full value of the 15 hours ($375).
