And for new families, an excerpt from our 2018-2019 New Family Guide:

SnoBall Dance: SnoBall is a girl-ask-boy (Sadie Hawkins) semi-formal dance for grades 9-12 held following Christmas break and planned by the Senior class. Traditionally, the girls purchase a tie for their date that matches their dress. The girls arrange for a bouquet and boutonniere with a local florist that the boy picks up and pays for the day of the dance. Traditionally boys wear a black shirt and pants. Couples usually go out to dinner with a group of friends prior to the dance. Parents and guests gather in Van Orsow Auditorium for the Grand March, where participating couples are announced and the SnoBall queen is crowned. The Mother-Son/Father-Daughter dance follows coronation, after which parents are politely asked to leave the remaining festivities to the students!

SnoBall Queen: The senior class votes for the queen candidates, who then choose their escorts. The SnoBall Court is usually announced a week or two prior to the dance, with voting for SnoBall Queen occurring just before the dance.
